Using Reflection FTP Client

 

1. Open Reflection FTP Client (Start -> Reflection -> FTP Client).  In the "Connect to FTP Site" windows, click "New…"

 

 

 

 

 

2. Add the FTP Site 'Host Name', which is umesde.umes.edu for faculty and staff websites.  Click Next.

 

 

 

 

3. Choose "User" for the kind of login you want.  Click Next.

 

 

 

 

4. For your user name, enter umes\username (e.g. umes\jdwebster).  Check the box for "Save my password as encrypted text".  Now enter your password in the password field.  Click Next.

 

 

 

 

 

5. For "What name would you like to use for this FTP site", you can enter anything here that will help you remember the FTP site you want to connect to.  Click Yes for "Connect Now" and Click Finish.

 

 

 

6. You should now see the FTP client with two panes, normally the left one for your local machine, and the right one for the remote connection.  To transfer files, simply click and drag the files and folders you want to transfer from one pane to the other.
