Research: Nutrition-reproduction
interactions, specifically looking at metabolic and satiety factor influences on female
reproduction. Goat, swine and sheep applied research (nutrition,
reproduction, growth and development, genetics, etc.) as well as biotechnology research
(cloning genes, gene expression, etc.).
Oversee the Swine Research and Education Facility, a 40 sow farrow-to-finish operation with a large classroom, surgery suite, and laboratory.
Oversee the Ruminant Research and Education Farm with a 60 doe Boer-cross herd of goats (and some fainting goats), a 90 ewe flock of Katahdin and Katahdin x Dorper crossbred hair sheep and a small herd of purebred Black Angus cattle.
Co-advisor of the Animal and Poultry Science Club. We have FUN, FUN, FUN!! Everyone
from all majors invited to join. We
volunteer at dog shows, host a livestock auction, take field trips to vet schools
and farms, and invite job recruiters to host pizza parties! Only one dollar
to join!
